Dandelion Turkeys Not Viewed Enough
Journal Entry: Wed Nov 21, 2007, 4:06 PM
Mood: Love
Listening to: my ipod
Watching: Biggest Loser
Playing: on here
Drinking: not enough water
So I am sure that title if anything should have you wondering "WTF MATE" as my sister ~forlorn-angel would say.....
It was my HOOK!!!
So I will take the middle word first.... TURKEY....
That simply is meant to say....
GOBBLE GOBBLE
So the first part was DANDELIONS
I have seen some great dandelion shots and I just had to feature them this week.... the first one by moi
The last part is NOT VIEWED ENOUGH.... that one is just meant to say that I have come across some great artists lately that either have not been exposed or are pretty new... the next few features are from great artists.... check em out....
Wasn't that the day a load of colonials took food from the Natives and promised peace before shortly afterwards seizing all their land and killing them off with plauge ridden blankets or demoralising their nation thourhg poor trade, alcohol and terrible trapping rights, then proceeded to eat their way across america, taking most of the wildlife including the herds of MILLIONS of Bison to their ovens and floors in the form of roast dinner and fur rugs. Then I believe they thre loads of tea in the ocean to try and make a giant cup of salty chai in an expression of "independence, that's so obviously still standing when Mr. Bush needs the help of the people that his ancestors claimed independence from when he starts fights over oil with countries smaller than his................ Do people remember this when they tuck into their pumpkin pie and turkey, or like christmas is it just an excuse to stuff oneself stupid and get totally rat arsed and not give a damn about the people that have been stepped on in order to get to the point where one can actually celebrate it?
however i like the way you think..... as much as we celebrate for those reasons for me it is a bit different.... as i tuck the pumpkin pie and turkey in my mouth i first look around me and share my thankfulness that on this day my family all comes together. due to everyone living apart it is one of the few days out of the year where i can still be at my grandmothers house with all my aunts and uncles and cousins and their children and just be thankful for that....
i don't agree with the way some of our history is created that is then used to come up with holidays that are symbolized by things like turkeys..... but on the other hand i do my best to make changes in our messed up world but at the same time try to appreciate the things i have before me.....
does my second generation flower child ramblings make sense....

I knew you wouldn't be offended I like that, An acceptance of someone's honesty is a true strength, besides, we suuplied the plague blankets and bought the tobacco, initiated the slave trade (in that form) and encouraged all the murder and theft.
You, like myself are the decendents of asshole nations, we are inevitably held accountable for the crimes of ancestors we know nothing about, and there is nothing we can do about it as some nations still hold grudges, in the end, it is the grudge holder that is imprisoned, their refusal to sever their bond to the past is their cage. Whereas we, at least try, to make a difference, and if we don't make one, we are always conscious of our cultural Karma and carry it with honour till the day that memory fades and all can live in the fellowship that was set down a few hundred years ago and is still celebrated with pumpkin pie and turkey
Oooh, I'm all philosophical tonight.
Happy thanksgiving to you!
