The beautifully talented =Jennbawa has tagged me.... and it has been awhile since I have filled out a lil somethin about lil ol me.... so here it goes.....

Here we go... 8 facts about myself ...


1. I have had poems published under the pen name "Dale Fox"

2. I am OC (Obsessive Compulsive) with some aspects of daily life.... I have been asked if it is OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and I calmly explain that I don't believe it is a disorder at all... I kinda like it

3. I am afraid of spiders..... When I was 17 I had spider eggs laid in my arm while working in northern wisconsin. They were laid under the top most layer of the epidermis.... I went to the doctor and had them removed.... two more weeks and I would have been a proud mama

4. The town I grew up in is the "Morel Mushroom Capital of the World" .... on a side note I hate all mushrooms..... except Morels.

5. I volunteer at a nursing home in the Alzheimer's wing. Seven of us from work have adopted the whole wing as our grandparents. We go in weekly (and more) to hang out with them, paint nails, sing, dance, etc.... This week we had a Valentine's party for them and danced the night away..... it was amazing watching everyone come alive and just enjoy the moment.... They are very special to my heart....

6. I am a reality TV junkie.... Big Brother *YEAH IT IS ON EARLY....BUT IS STUPID*, Biggest Loser, American Idol, America's Got Talent, etc..... It goes on.... and on top of it I love the shows on TLC and HGTV.... Hidden Potential, What not to wear (I can only pray that my friends and family would ask Stacey and Clinton to pick me!)

7. I was a governor for a college I attended and was able to lobby at the Wisconsin capitol and help change a bill....

8. I am a big sensitive sap.... and cry easily.... I schedule a weekly cry on Sundays during Extreme Home Makeover.....

So that is my eight.... I know I am suppose to tag others..... and it is hard to sometimes get others to do it.... but I will try in the spirit of the game.... I tag.....




In the spirit of what is listed as my NUMBER 5 question.... I have decided to search the site and find the beauty of our older generation.... When volunteering in the Alzheimer's wing I have found many beautiful faces that are hidden by confusion and loneliness. After I sit down and have a conversation with them and start laughing.... their eyes and smiles come alive.....

There is beauty in this wing..... but I also watch people slowly deteriorate... there motor skills are no longer controlled and they slowly slip away from us.... sadly they don't even have their memories to keep them company....

Appreciate your grandparents and this great generation. They have been through more than we have.... World Wars, Depression, Non-advanced medicine, etc.... they roughed it and they survived.... remember to love and respect..... one day that will be us too....
