UPDATE!!!!! WHERE ARE THEIR HEADS??? REALLY???

so to top off this rant like icing on a cake.... i was dumbfounded by our wonderful national news last night. the bush administration is admitting that there is GLOBAL WARMING! in fact they are even putting the polar bears on the THREATENED list.... hooray??? NOT REALLY.... they then follow up with the fact that they are not going to do anything about it. NOTHING! Its just so we all know that they know....

Isn't that like a policeman watching a masked man stealing the purse of an old lady... and then telling the old lady "your purse was stolen" and THEN doing nothing about it??? REALLY???

*sigh*

What next???? or dare i ask????

today i sit at home trying to get some work done.... thanks to the allergy season i feel overwhelmed with sniffles, sneezes and migraines. so i was working on a client's presentation and listening to CNN. the more i heard (and have read) the more i am disgusted....

my heart goes out to the families and children of myanmar and china. the first story that just made my heart sink was in regards to myanmar. to see the lifeless bodies of thousands of victims is so heart retching but the true horror is their junta.... how can they deny their people the aid that others are so willing to give? now there are reports that the high protein bars and other aid that have been delivered are being stored in military warehouses? they aren't even trying to deliver it to their rural villages. they know their people are hurting, starving and dying but they would rather be proud and not allow others to assist them? REALLY as much as it is a stinger that they are handing out what aid they feel like handing out stating it is from them and not the rest of world.... i can get over that because in the big picture... victims are being helped... but they won't let any of the international aid charities and organizations come into the country and help distribute it. there are reports that while the donations were being accepted members of the government were annoyed.... like it was an annoyance to be given all of this FREE AID!!!!

not too long ago i participated in an event by a locally based charity "Water Missions International" and the walk for water. They working so hard to get containers of clean water to myanmar... but will it help? will it be accepted? will it sit next to the rotting rice that they won't hand out..... their chosen ignorance is appalling.....

AND then there is the tragedy in china. the devastation is so surreal. i realize i am only seeing what the media is choosing to show but i am quite impressed by how they are all helping one another. i have seen footage of their rescue teams trying so hard within minutes to save people. people are not giving up in trying to rescue survivors that are still buried. i hope for them that they can continue to save more lives. at this time they have accepted some donations and aid but are taking the burden on themselves to save so many lives. my prayers go out to those who are waiting to be rescued. i am saddened by the loss of life and everyone who has somehow had to endure in these two tragedies are in my prayers. i hope that myanmar can learn something from their close neighbor and will start to let others help.

so their is my brief rant..... (i could go on longer... but who will read it and the point has been made)

this week's features are dedicated to those who have helped us and to remind us of worldly love we should have for one another....

I wonder how many homes were lost from the people who choose not to have help while there people grow tired and weak, very sad for the ones who suffer.

i agree... and to see the pain in their eyes and the tears from the children is so sad.... it is bad enough that mother nature creates some of these tragedies.... but it is even worse when people just add to the pain and suffering....

The earth what a powerful and sometimes tragic wonder. The mind of men on the other hand leaves me in disgust and confused.

i agree.... it is so sad.... especially since there are things that can be done.... but people stand in the way of humanitarian aid... *sigh*

that it is.... a wonderful philanthropist said "evil is when good people do nothing".... i have agreed with that and truly thought that.... now i see there is another side of evil.... and that is when people stop the good that others are trying to do.... what is the purpose??? *sigh*
